- On a flat surface dusted with icing sugar or cornstarch, knead the Fondant icing until soft. Roll out fondant to desiered thickness and place it on the cake. Shape fondant to sides of cake with a smoother. Then trim off excess edges to finish and decorate the cake as desired. Or you can use the Fondant Icing to mold or scuplt into any decorations.
